The obverse of the 1988 Hawaii Dala features a bold new portrait inspired by the King Kamehameha the Great statue - Hawaii's most famous statue that stands across King Street from lolani Palace in downtown Honolulu.
The reverse features a Hawaiian temple that was used by the Hawaiian Alii (Royality) and Kamehameha before he began his conquest that unified The Hawaiian Islands.
The 1988 Dala, the third in the annual Silver Dala issue, is extremely will minted in outstanding PROOFLIKE condition. Each Dala was packaged in a flipette with a certificate of authenticity.
The Issue was limited to 10,000 but less than 4,000 were sold before the deadline of December 31, 1988 for $15.95 each.
