In 1886, King David Kalakaua celebrated his 50th birthday Jubilee at the beautiful Iolani Palace, his Royal Residence in Honolulu. The 1986 Jubilee Centennial Medal is 27mm in diameter and features an exact replica of the medal struck for his 50th birthday Jubilee Celebration in November 1886 with King Kalakaua. The reverse, dated 1886, features a very fine engraving of lolani Palace commemorating the 1986 Jubilee Celebration. The 27mm bronze Jubilee Medal was not issued separately so it is very rare.
